What is the idea behind the name Danny Lips?
Ari: Danny Lips is the sixth, invisible member of the band. He lives in his own universe, and takes us to places we do not dare to go alone. He´s always interested in finding new paths and he can go wherever he likes. He is the bravest and the coolest of us.

Why did you choose “Balancing birds” as name for the album?
Ari: It sums up the idea of the band, fragile balance that is easily put off by forces of nature. It´s important to stay in balance and sometimes you need wings for it.
Where do you get your inspiration for the music, the sound and the lyrics?
Ari: Anywhere, music is the key to channel our thoughts that we might find interesting to tell about.
What is special concerning the lyrics? What are the thoughts/themes behind the words?
Ari: The lyrics find their way into the paper when you see what is happening around and you listen to what people have to say, in good or worse. The lyrics come from what you hear, see, taste and feel. They may be true stories, full of fiction or in-between.
Where and how do you produce your stuff?
Ari: Well, usually it starts from the demo someone has made. We rehearse it and record it again at our training room. It´s cool to get some feedback from our friends and from the audience. Finally Danny Lips, the invisible guy, puts his own secret sauce to the song and after that no one can touch it.
How do you describe the mood of Danny Lips? What is your philosophy?
Ari: Melancholy ain’t always a bad thing.
What is your strenght and unique feature? What is Danny Lips?
Ari: Danny Lips’s uniqueness comes from that we cherish our roots of Slavic melancholy and mix it up with bits and pieces of music we all used to grow up to love, and add our own spice to it.
Where do you come from (musically)? What are your roots?
Ari: Slavic melancholy, golden greens, 60s and 70s music, everything that sounds good and brings up emotions in you.
When and why do you start working together?
Ari: We started in 2006. The main reason was to write good music and hang out with friends. Since we have not come to each other´s enemies, we still like to work together.
Why do you like Germany/Europe for touring and releasing your music?
Ari: Lovely Germans seem to like Danny Lips music and they have had good times at our shows. It has given us more energy to do tours. We hope to see you all soon!
What is your driving force, spending your energy, time, money for Danny Lips?
Ari: Love.
What do you like most? What do you hate?
Ari: I like the most and hate the most doing music, there are good and bad days to it, but in the end I always end up on the positive side
Topi: When it comes to making music, I like the whole process from the first demo to the finished song when you see and hear how the song takes its own shape. And what I hate? I hate those days when we are not touring and performing live for people. Because playing live is something that I love!
Aki: For me the highlight in working with the band must be the thrilling interaction during the live show which is in most cases there between the band and the audience. To observe it, to enjoy it and the sense that we are able to feed it. The downside is definitely the always inevitable adaptation to normal day to day routine after a bunch great of gigs. Though it gets easier when you just remember that more fun is always ahead.
Vesa: Writing songs and drinking coffee is good for me. The days when I don´t have time to write songs and drink coffee are not so good.
Otso: I like Lissu and go to gym. I don´t hate anything.
