Video of Bob Marley from the Uprising Tour 1980 on Label TV

The Uprising Tour ran in Europe from May 30th to July 13th 1980 with five further dates in the USA in September. It was Bob Marley’s last tour before his tragically early death in May 1981 at the age of just 36. The tour was in support of the “Uprising” album released on June 10th 1980. A few days later on June 13th the live show from Dortmund’s Westfalenhalle was filmed for the famous German music TV series Rockpalast and is presented here for the first time with footage restored to the best possible quality.
Here the video from the DVD of Bob Marley

Bob Marley and the Wailers are on superb form and deliver a set of hit singles and classic album tracks. Marley’s energetic, charismatic performance gives no indication that he was already ill with the cancer that would take his life less than a year later.

Video of Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow live at Rockpalast

Rainbow were an English rock band formed in 1975 by the former Deep Purple guitarist Ritchie Blackmore. In addition to Ritche Blackmore, the band also comprised of Ronnie James Dio, Mickey Lee Soule, Gary Driscoll, and Craig Gruber. Rainbow had a frequently changing lineup, due to Ritchie Blackmore’s perfectionism, but still managed to become renowned for their powerful live shows. Rainbow was disbanded in 1984 after Deep Purple made an offer to Ritchie Blackmore to rejoin the band. However, even though the Deep Purple reunion was a success, Ritchie was dissatisfied, and left to form a new Rainbow in 1993. They embarked on a lengthy world tour, and release a new album in 1995.

Critics have said that this was possibly the best period of Rainbow; however, Ritchie again disbanded the group in 1997 after turning his attention to medieval music. Their biggest commercial hit was „Since You’ve Been Gone“.
